About the roleThe Web Content Coordinator’s objective is to publish and manage daily blog content produced by the Communications team on GVI’s main websites. You will ensure that new blog content created by writers, designers, videographers and other departments is published on the relevant site in an efficient and accurate manner, in accordance with the brief. You will also support the website management team by ensuring that other websites belonging to the GVI group have accurate and engaging content at all times. And that all information, such as new photos, videos, banners, landing pages, program pages, policy documentation, brochures, etc. are uploaded in a timely and accurate manner. -government organizations in the field. Over 35,000 participants have volunteered, completed an internship or studied abroad with us in our 23 years of operation and most have rated the experience as “life changing”. Our core management and administration teams have been based in Westlake for the past five years in the casual office space, but are now split between the office and remote work locations around the world. We are quite a hardworking bunch but are committed to keeping things light. We are a dynamic organization and as such we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual who must be flexible and ready to get involved in all aspects of the business, specifically within the marketing team. There will be times when all staff will be asked to help with a certain project and other times when your duties might differ from your official job description. It’s all part of the fun of working here at GVI. In addition to having the talent and experience necessary for the role, we are looking for someone who is, above all else, eager to learn and inward looking. You are a good communicator (both in person and asynchronously via email or chat), work well independently and collaboratively, and enjoy honing your technical skills.What will you do
  • Manage daily blog posting for GVI People & Planet websites as determined by an editorial calendar.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure an efficient website process is followed for blog uploads.
  • Manage necessary editorial content on blog landing page, blog post pages and blog category pages.
  • Management of blog categories and tags. Adjust these for existing blogs and add them for new blogs in consultation with the communications team.
  • Effectively manage your publishing needs to ensure the best use of your time.
  • Assist the Web Content Manager in rolling out updated information to the hub on a quarterly basis.
  • Edit website content as necessary to ensure consistency and accuracy. Mainly focusing on blog landing page, blog post pages and blog category pages.
  • Support the web content management team by updating monthly promotional material.
  • Support the web content management team to ensure an efficient program launch and update process.

What you are going to need

  • Mastery of SEO and content management systems.
  • Familiar with WordPress or have demonstrable experience and the ability to acquire WordPress editing skills within a reasonable time frame.
  • Interested in website management, operations, marketing and communications.
  • Have a keen eye for detail.
  • Have an eye for design and the ability to edit website content with high quality.
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Enjoy problem solving and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive and autonomous with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Experience using Gutenberg WordPress theme, basic photo editing or photography (advantageous).
  • Have a passion for the industry and the mission of our organization.
  • Have a passion for sustainability, conservation, community building and travel
