Vacant position: Program Support Officer (Andes) at CAFOD

CAFOD is currently seeking a Program Support Officer (Andes) to support the smooth and efficient management, administration and coordination of CAFOD’s work in the Andes region, thus contributing to our objectives of combating the poverty, exclusion and injustice. We manage a diverse development agenda in the region, working in close partnership with the local church and NGOs in response to issues of natural resource management and sustainable livelihoods in the context of climate change, conflict and consolidation of peace, governance and human rights, and gender as well as humanitarian emergencies. Communications and advocacy are an integral part of this.

The incumbent will ensure that adequate administrative procedures are maintained to support the representative of the Andean country and the program managers in the implementation of the CAFOD program in Bolivia, Colombia and Peru in accordance with the management system of the CAFOD program cycle (PCM). An essential part of this involves working effectively and responsively with partner organizations and the team to ensure that grants are processed on time in the program cycle and recorded correctly in CAFOD’s systems. The work of the Program Support Officer will include annual budgeting and monitoring of team cost and grant budgets and provide critical support to the team with funding requests, financial and narrative monitoring of the team. partner programs, preparation of internal approval documentation and reports to external donors. Other important aspects of the role include supporting travel and event logistics and handling information and communication requests from across and outside the organization.

We need a proactive and flexible person who is fluent in English and Spanish. You will have program and administration experience and excellent digital skills, you will be proficient in ICT, particularly Word, Excel, data entry and ideally Microsoft SharePoint. You will be able to play a central role in ensuring the efficient flow of internal knowledge and information. It is imperative that you are able to manage your time and ideally have experience leading a team and are used to juggling various tasks. Knowledge of development and justice issues in the Latin American region is a great advantage; most important is the ability to maintain strong grant administration and program cycle management procedures while building a relationship of trust and respect with partners.
