Melanie Sanchez Leckie joined Trident International University (Trident) as regional manager of strategic relations with the military community. She will be responsible for military outreach activities in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma.
In this role, she will assist current and prospective students in their efforts to achieve their respective educational goals. Beyond her fieldwork, she will collaborate with key University staff to help ensure a positive experience for all students.
Leckie is an energetic, fearless, and driven leader who champions higher education for service members and their families. This motivation goes back to her parents’ belief in the power of education.
“As someone raised in a home that prioritized learning, I strongly believe that education is the practice of freedom, the greatest equalizer,” says Leckie.
A United States Air Force veteran, Leckie earned her undergraduate degree while on active duty in Florida. She is a Trident alumnus, earning a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) while living across the continents of Europe and Africa as an active duty Air Force spouse.
Leckie is a first-generation American whose parents are from Nicaragua. She is multilingual, Spanish being her first language.
