Smiley cookies to support the local hospice

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will once again support St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia-Lambton.

All proceeds raised through fundraising at participating Tim Hortons locations in Sarnia and Bright’s Grove will be used to fund services and equipment for local hospice residents.

“We were lucky enough to be the recipient a few years ago and it went really well for us so hopefully it will be the same,” said St. Joseph’s, Amanda Orr. “Our Sarnia-Lambton community has been amazing in showing their support for St. Joseph’s Hospice, so we’re thrilled.

In 2018, the campaign raised over $31,000 for the hospice. https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2018/10/04/smile-cookie-campaign-raises-lot-dough/

Director of fund development and community relations Maria Muscedere said they hope to exceed that amount in this year’s campaign.

“The owners of our local Tim Hortons have always supported palliative care, so this is just another way for them to come together,” Muscedere said.

Last year’s 25th Annual Smile Cookie Campaign in Sarnia and Bright’s Grove raised $44,509 for St. Clair Child & Youth Services.

In Forest, money raised at Tim Hortons restaurants in the community will benefit the North Lambton Health Center, and in Petrolia, money raised will go to the CEE Hospital Foundation.

The “soft” campaign will run from September 19 to 25.
