Round Hill Music – Licensing Coordinator (USA)

Round Hill Music is a full-service creative music company primarily focused on music publishing. The company operates a music publishing division, synchronization and royalty administration, a music production library business, a label and label services division as well as a Nashville songwriter services group with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and London.

We are looking for a Coordinator to join our licensing team in Nashville, TN! The Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist with day-to-day deliverables, working alongside the Licensing Manager in issuing mechanical-DPD licenses, new digital media and sample licenses to record labels on behalf of all clients and catalogs Round Hill publishing house. The successful candidate will be a dynamic professional who understands outbound licensing workflow and can roll up their sleeves to complete tasks in an orderly and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks and department projects
  • Classify incoming NOIs from licensees
  • Confirm label copy/administration for new digital media and sample releases
  • Approve/Write/Publish US & Canadian Mechanical-DPD, New Digital Media, Sample Clearances
  • Track license information in a proprietary database
  • Contact Labels for Incoming Cut Notice Publishing Licenses
  • Provide project status updates to Licensing Manager, Administration and other departments as required
  • Draft, liaise and facilitate Sample/Int./Derivative agreements between Clearing Agent and Pub Manager or Licensee’s Business Manager
  • Negotiate sampling permissions and resolve licensing issues
  • Request, monitor and collect payment of bill payments
  • Manage executed agreements to ensure transactions are processed efficiently at all stages
  • Serve as a liaison for the Company in all facets of mechanical licensing activities
  • 1-2 years of previous work experience in a record label, music publishing house, or licensing agency, with experience in copyright, mechanical-DPD, new digital media, sample, or related licensing
  • Experience and/or willingness to learn how to work with and manipulate a high volume of data
  • A passion for music

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to self-motivate and be self-directed who takes responsibility/ownership of tasks
