Roots Party Appoints Omar Lali National Coordinator of Beach Boys Association » Capital News

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 24 – George Wajackoyah’s Roots Party has appointed Omar Lali as National Coordinator of the Beach Boys Association (BBA) party.

Lali’s nomination was announced by Roots party vice-presidential candidate Justina Wangui Wamae.

“Omar brings the vote of the beach boys who are often overlooked on Kenya’s development agenda. The Roots Party of Kenya looks forward to this strategic partnership,” Wamae said.

Wamae noted that Lali’s appointment will help the party’s program to revitalize the tourism industry in the country.

“Beach boys stimulate the tourism economy because they are guides offering long tours of the coast and marine parks. Others sell African souvenirs such as khangas, Maasai sandals and beads. Some of these traders display their wares along the sandy expanse,” she said.

Lali rose to fame in April 2020 after being linked to the murder of his late girlfriend Keroche, heiress Tecra Muigai.

Muigai is believed to have died on the stairs of the Jaha guesthouse in Malindi, County Kilifi, where she lived with Lali.

Lali was later arrested and charged with the murder. He was, however, later released after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) dropped the murder charges citing lack of evidence.
