Reporting & Translation Coordinator – Türkiye

Gülümseme ve Zeytin Yardimlaşma ve Dayanişma Derneği (GvZ) is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization that supports the most marginalized and desperate Syrians affected by the conflict in Syria and those displaced to neighboring countries. From the beginning, GvZ has believed that its role is to create ways to empower people affected by conflict by developing their skills and rekindling their sense of humanity and dignity. Through its community centres, GvZ offers women, young people and marginalized groups a range of various humanitarian services such as humanitarian aid, protection, education programs and networking with others humanitarian actors on how to advocate for issues deemed critical to highlight.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality by managing field worker data collection
  • Contribute to the development of new systems, workflows and processes to ensure timely reporting by Field Officers and Translation Officer
  • Ensure completeness, format, consistency, accuracy and validity of data for use in all reports
  • Produce and oversee the production of high quality investigation reports
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain data governance processes
  • Upon request, prepare and create reports for other departments in the organization
  • Directly responsible for translating documents on a variety of topics and providing simultaneous translation and interpretation services for project meetings and events.
  • Coordinate the process of translation assessment, translation proofreading, technical reviews, spot checks and proofreading.
  • Organize, coordinate and facilitate training for field team staff on data collection and reporting tools
  • Review and proofread all project products
  • Ensure the follow-up of the daily tasks of the project team
  • Support performance appraisal of project staff
  • Work closely with information management staff to ensure accurate and efficient presentation of data, graphs and maps

Knowledge, experience and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in translation or English, or other related field

At least 3-4 years of proven experience implementing projects in NGOs or UN agencies

Strong coordination skills with a proven ability to work across multiple technical areas simultaneously, supporting and coaching multiple staff members

Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines

Demonstrate passion and commitment to changing people’s lives.

Must be creative, innovative and curious.

Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills;

Familiarity with humanitarian principles;


· Very good fluent English and Arabic (written and spoken).

· Very good computer skills.

· Proficiency in the Internet and research tools.
