NCPS Announces New Women’s Basketball Coach, Engagement Coordinator – Nebraska City News Press

Nebraska City Public Schools is thrilled to announce Scott Kinnison as head coach of women’s basketball.

Kinnison teaches eighth grade social studies, currently serves as head girls’ and boys’ golf coach, and coaches junior high girls’ and boys’ basketball. He is also part of the leadership teams at the district and building level.

Kinnison is a member of our community and the district is fortunate to also have his wife as a pioneer teacher. They raised their three children in our community, all former pioneers.

We are excited about the experience, knowledge and leadership he will bring to the program as head coach of women’s basketball. Nebraska City Public Schools is delighted to announce Ms. Kate Sherwin as Engagement Coordinator.

Sherwin will be the District Manager and directly responsible for; high-potential learners, continuous school improvement, professional development, pedagogical model, engagement and communication.

She has worked in the Nebraska City Public Schools for 7 years, as a coordinator and teacher of high potential learners. Her new role will allow her to continue to serve high-potential learners by supporting all staff.

This position is a new position, as the administrative position of Director of Curriculum and Instruction is not filled.

Sherwin is considered a master teacher and leader in the district. His skills will continue to guide students and will now have an even greater impact throughout the district.
