Motherwell manager Graham Alexander extends contract

MOTHERWELL boss Graham Alexander has signed a new contract at Fir Park.

The former Scottish midfielder has been in charge for just over a year, replacing Stephen Robinson.

He has a winning percentage of 47.8% and a league point-per-game record of 1.55.

Alexander said on the club’s website: “I am delighted to sign a new contract here at Motherwell and to continue the progress we have all made over the past 12 months.

“Chris and I have received great support from everyone connected with the club which has certainly helped us to focus on our work.

“I have a brilliant relationship with the people I work with on a daily basis, and the environment that we are allowed to develop here to produce results is particularly rewarding.

“I also want to thank the President and the Board of Directors for trusting us from day one to be successful in this role.

“We know we have a lot more to accomplish here. We will strive to work as hard as ever to serve Motherwell in the best way. ”

Motherwell President Jim McMahon added: “We are absolutely delighted with Graham’s contribution since he joined our club 12 months ago and we are excited about what he is trying to build with us.

“He is talented, hardworking, dedicated and fully embraces the multi-faceted role at Motherwell.

“The board will continue to support him to help us achieve our goals on and off the pitch.”
