Manchester United drew 1-1 with Leicester over the weekend,
United were knocked out of the Champions League just before the international break and Saturday’s draw against Leicester at Old Trafford in their return to action could mean their hopes of finishing in the top four this season are all but dashed.
Leicester took the lead through Kelechi Iheanacho but they couldn’t hold onto that advantage for long. Fred was one of United’s best players and he brought his team level with a simple finish from the penalty area.
Ralf Rangnick criticized Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga’s decision-making after the result: “I think we had a difficult and bumpy start to the game,” Rangnick said. “The reaction to the goal was good, we came back to a goal from Fred and in the last 15 minutes we tried everything, not always taking the right decisions but we had two or three good chances.
“Jadon should have made two touches at the far post when Fofana slipped and Anthony Elanga stayed clear of that ball while Marcus Rashford would have been completely free and probably scored or it would have been a penalty.”
