Job: Senior Human Resources Coordinator – Africa at Control Risks

The description

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator – Africa will provide advisory support to managers on a full range of people management issues advising them on appropriate policy, legislation and best practices so that appropriate solutions are applied to support the achievement of the company goals. The Senior HR Coordinator will manage a varied workload of employee relations issues.

Generalist HR advice and support

  • Work closely with MEA and Global HR teams to ensure streamlined service is provided to the business.
  • Build effective working relationships with employees at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practices.
  • Build relationships with managers at all levels and develop a good understanding of their work.
  • Monitor, review and update local HR policies and ensure they comply with applicable legislation.
  • Dealing with HR matters reliably and in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Act as a case manager for incoming employee relations issues, escalating as necessary to the Director/Human Resources Manager.
  • Support the company to implement corporate change initiatives in its areas, including layoffs, restructurings and modification of terms and conditions, as appropriate.
  • Coach managers on performance management and sensitive employment issues, such as performance improvement plans.
  • Promote the good health and well-being of employees through various initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate health and wellness matters, including maternity leave and long-term absences, liaising with employees, HR team and rewards team as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties reasonably requested by the Human Resources manager, the management team and in relation to the strategic human resources plan
  • HR systems, data management and compliance
  • Be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of employee data in all core HR systems by ensuring updates are made in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all employee trackers and files are updated and accurate and in compliance with internal policies.
  • Provide reports regarding workforce demographics for senior management.
  • Comply with the Data Protection Regulation and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ensure the security of employee information in accordance with the legislation and best practices.
  • Respond to compliance questions and internal/external audits in accordance with the HR risk map and ensure that all operational aspects of compliance reports are handled in agreement with the HR manager and the HR operational team.

Recruitment and integration

  • Manage recruitment of replacement positions and new roles for service lines in accordance with role criteria and requirements.
  • Work with vetted and vetted recruitment agencies to find candidates if needed.
  • Identify and review potential agencies for new requirements.
  • Advertise job descriptions and shortlist candidates for all roles. Arrange interviews and assessments with candidates if necessary.
  • Manage pre-employment processes for newcomers. Understands it; document completion, verification through Credence, ePotential compliance activities, and verification that all relevant certificates and qualifications are current.
  • Draft and issue letters of offer and employment contracts for new entrants.
  • Manage Day 1 inductions and work with Talent Development Manager, EMEA to ensure all employees go through the Control Risks induction process.
  • Payroll and Benefits
  • Manage monthly payroll tracking and entry for Africa ensuring 100% accuracy
  • Manage enrollment and administration of medical insurance plans for employees and their dependents based on country of employment.
  • Own and execute assigned projects and priorities in accordance with agreed timelines with HR Manager/Director. Provide proactive support with ad hoc tasks as needed. Make sure all issues are flagged to ensure delivery meets agreed timelines.

Terms

Essential

  • Extensive administrative experience within a Human Resources function
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Clear communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of Nigerian labor law.
  • Knowledge and experience of HR information systems
