Land Development Support Officer

Salary range of £23,208 to £25,557 annual salary + up to 18.5% employer pension contribution

Permanent, full time (37 hours per week)

St Albans City and District Council’s Spatial Planning and Design team is growing significantly, supported by additional new funding from Council. The team is growing from 5 to 8 policy specialists to help us move the local plan forward and cement cross-border relationships with neighboring councils. With the advice, support and financial investment of the Department of Leveling Up Housing and Communities and Homes England in our cross-border work on the Herts South West Joint Strategic Plan and the potential major growth of Hemel Garden Communities, it is now is a great time for positive, enthusiastic and forward-thinking candidates to join the team.

In this position, you will participate in the provision of a development plan development service in order to offer a flawless land use planning service. You will need to have a keen eye for detail as you will research, analyze and interpret data.

You must be an enthusiastic team player with skilled administrative expertise. You will also have excellent communication skills, the ability to work to strict deadlines and be able to work in a pressured environment. A proven professional attitude, a commitment to excellent customer service and a flexible approach to work are also essential.

You must be educated to A level including English Language and GCSE Maths or an equivalent qualification. A working knowledge of the MS Office suite as well as an ability to use a variety of software packages, including GIS, is essential.
