About the opportunity

The School of Physics welcomes applications for an experienced professional Education support officer provide a wide range of administrative and operational educational support to academic and teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the faculty.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • provide educational support services in accordance with academic requirements and the overall schedule of the work area
  • coordinate accreditation requirements for one or more study programs
  • ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls
  • ensure a safe working environment for all staff and students
  • coordinate the compilation of academic content and material prepared by academic and faculty staff for research-based study programs, for print publications and / or for upload to Canvas / online systems.

  • a higher education diploma with relevant professional experience; and / or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
  • effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative and judgment, as well as the ability to prioritize workload during peak periods
  • Experience working in a tertiary environment with a working knowledge of using learning management systems such as Canvas, as well as a good understanding of student schedule / activity list
  • excellent time and workload management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, multitask, meet deadlines and achieve required results
  • experience in delivering educational programs, preferably in a higher education environment
  • in-depth knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes in a tertiary environment.
