Communications Coordinator – New York, NY, USA | Works

Diller Scofidio + Renfro is a 100-person interdisciplinary design studio based in New York City working across architecture, visual and performing arts.

The studio is looking for a Communications Coordinator. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for communicating DS+R’s ethos and portfolio of work, which focuses on civic and cultural works such as the High Line, Lincoln Center, The Shed, Museum of Modern Art and the Broad, as well as a number of art installations, exhibitions and performances. This position reports to the Director of Communications and will require in-person attendance at our Chelsea studio to collaborate with the team.

The communications coordinator must:

Answer and respond to press inquiries and inquiries

  • Respond to exhibition requests and inquiries
  • Monitor media coverage and produce press summaries
  • Maintain the studio’s online presence, including website, YouTube channel, Linkedin and Instagram
  • Manage award submissions
  • Search for speeches
  • Track and support company events and staff engagements, including project openings and studio tours
  • Continuously update the studio database (physical and digital)
  • Maintain and continuously update studio contact databases


  • Interest in visual and performing arts, design and urban planning
  • Understanding of DS+R’s work and perspective
  • Exceptional oral and written English; other languages ​​are a plus
  • Editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience in website management (CMS), or interest and ability to learn
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, or an interest in learning is a plus
  • Relevant professional experience in communication or marketing (an asset)
  • Experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry (an asset)
