Assessment Support Officer job at UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY

  • Support academics at Sydney Medical School in the Faculty of Medicine and Health to provide high quality assessment and examinations
  • Located on the Camperdown campus
  • Base salary of $78,077 + 17% superannuation

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Assessment Support Officer, who will work with key Sydney Medical School academic and professional staff, to support the assessment delivery cycle of online proctored exams and clinical assessments. The role supports the implementation of best practices throughout the academic year.

This role offers hybrid work arrangements, but you must be on site 3 days a week.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • liaise with academic, clinical and professional staff to coordinate the production of a wide range of clinical assessments and examinations, including providing support to maintain examination question banks, examination delivery and scheduling assessments in online assessment systems and the Canvas LMS
  • ensure the compilation of academic content and materials prepared by academic and teaching staff for in-person and online examinations and upload to Canvas and other online assessment systems in a timely manner
  • help ensure that accurate and timely assessment information is posted for students on Canvas LMS sites.
  • support the administration and delivery of clinical and written assessments across Sydney’s postgraduate medical program to ensure standards and consistency of assessments are maintained
  • provide training to academics and clinical school staff on the operational management of clinical examinations (including scoring and tablet grading)

About you

  • has knowledge of Excel and data management, and has the ability to develop skills in university systems including Canvas, Sydney Student and the Student Relations Engagement System (SRES)
  • has the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising good judgment to resolve issues that arise in the normal day-to-day work
  • can demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and commitment to using quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy of assessment results and reports
  • can demonstrate an ability to ensure that University policies, procedures and administrative processes are followed
  • have excellent time and workload management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required results.
