Analyst Support Officer position at London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth

The role

The post holder will have an impact in a large organization serving two London boroughs with diverse communities with varying needs. Using internal and external sources and public data, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of analytical and strategic projects, with significant organizational and social impact.

The incumbent will work closely and support the work of intelligence analysts and data scientists by extracting, cleaning and summarizing data. The post holder will also write reports, maintain and update analytical products and respond to data and information requests. The incumbent supports the implementation of the Insight and Analytics team work plan and contributes to the advancement of data and analytics across SSA.

Insight and analysis are seen as playing an important role going forward in both councils. The incumbent will be part of this job and there is potential for future growth opportunities.

The role

You will join the Insight and Analytics business team that supports departments and projects in Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. The team works with various local partners in the tertiary and health and social sectors.

The team’s vision is to enable leaders and colleagues across Richmond and Wandsworth councils to make informed decisions and implement transformative and innovative ways of working by providing insightful analytics and innovative data solutions to deliver high quality services to residents.

Your role

  • Demonstrate curiosity and apply an analytical mindset when approaching analytical problems.
  • Provide analytical support for products such as annual reports, needs assessments, strategic assessments, service reviews, etc.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow
  • Extract, collate, summarize data and develop accurate and timely dashboards and reports.
  • Clean, manipulate and link various types of data
  • Summarize and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users

your skills

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, and be able to maintain effective working relationships within the board and with partner organizations
